It's made with real fruit

Liam wanted a treat after dinner so he goes to "Jo-Jo" (Uncle Andy).
Liam: "Jo-Jo, Liam wants a kiwi candy" (gummy bear like candy that is kiwi flavored).
Jo-Jo: "Go ask mommy if it is okay to have a kiwi candy".
Liam goes to mommy and make the same request/comment.
Mommy: "You want a kiwi candy? Who says you can have a kiwi candy?"
Liam responds confidently: "Jo-Jo"
Jo-Jo says from across the room: "no, I didn't; I said you have to ask mommy if it is okay".
Liam looks at mommy "so, can I?"
Mommy: "You may have a kiwi candy after you eat your fruit".
Liam think for about 5 secs and says: "mommy, kiwi candy is made of fruit"

How to delay going to bed

Liam has quite a bag of tricks in delaying bedtime. Here are the things he tried in a single night:

Mommy puts him in his crib, says goodnight and leaves the room.
Liam: "mama, mama"
Mommy: "Liam, what do you need?"
Liam: "I want some water"
So mommy and Liam goes to get water and then back to bed. Mommy leaves to get herselves ready for bed.
Liam: "Mama, Mama"
Mommy: "Yes Liam, what is wrong?"
Liam: "My hand..."
Mommy: "What is wrong with your hand?" and notices Liam has put his hand in between the crib slats. It is not stuck but he insists Mommy needs to help. So, mommy pulls his hand back, tucks him in again, says goodnight and leaves the room again.
Liam: "Mama, Mama"
Mommy: "Liam, it's time to go to sleep"
Liam: "I have the hiccups, need to drink some water"
Mommy and Liam goes to get water; at the same time Mommy observes that Liam doesn't have the hiccups.
Mommy: "Liam, I don't hear any hiccups"
Liam: "I had one earlier"
After a sip of water, it is back to bed for Liam.
While Mommy is tucking him in again, Liam is rolling, twisting all different ways.
Mommy: "What are you doing?"
Liam: "Liam wants to sleep on pillow monkey"
Ok, Mommy positions his pillow monkey so he can rest his head on it.
Mommy: "Good night Liam, go to sleep"
Mommy goes to her room.
Liam: "mama, mama"
Mommy: "Liam, go to sleep!"
Liam (moving his head around): "I am not comfortable"
Mommy: "Well, let's not sleep on the pillow monkey" and removes the pillow monkey.
Liam: "I am comforable now"
Mommy bids goodnight and leaves again.
Liam: "Mama, Mama, come keep Liam company"
Mommy comes back and lays down on the floor next to Liam. Liam is asleep within minutes...

Getting dressed woes

Liam does not like to get dressed in the morning and preferrs to spend as much time as he can in his PJs. It is always a struggle to get him dressed in the morning....

3/18/2010: It's 11AM and PaoPao (Grandma) has spent an hour trying to convinced him to change. When Liam still refuses, she goes downstairs and tells him that she will come back up when he is ready to get dressed. Seeing that his playmate is gone, he sits at the top of the stairs yelling repeatly "PaoPao, come back". PaoPao stands at the bottom of the stairs and asks "yes Liam, what is it?" Liam responds "I want to get dressed now". PaoPao says "oh good, you want to get dressed. Are you really going to get dressed when I come up or are you fibbing?" To PaoPao's dismay, Liams says "I am fibbing." Well, at least he is honest about not being honest.

3/28/2010: Another morning when Liam doesn't want to get dressed. After reading 3 "last" book, Mommy tells him that she is not going to read anymore until he gets dressed. Still refusing to go upstairs to change, Mommy stands up and tells Liam "all right, I am going upstairs to wait for you. You can stay here and read by yourself". Liam angrily puts down the book and says "I don't know how to read!".

Rudolph's wings

Daddy and Liam were watching 'Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer' a few days before Christmas.
As usual, Liam loses interest in watching tv after only about 15 minutes. Daddy tells him "ok, let's just watch till Rudolph learns to fly". Liam looks at Daddy perplexed. Then he calls to Mommy "Mama, where are Rudolph's wings?"

mommy, you have to be clear with your instructions...

It's 9:26PM and Liam is still unwilling to get ready for bed. So mommy pointed to his digital clock and says "Liam, look, do you see your clock says 9:26? If you don't start getting into your PJs by the time that '6' turns to an '8', mommy is going to bed".
9:28PM, Liam is still ignoring mommy's request so mommy leaves him in his room and goes to get herself ready for bed.
Liam cries but still refuses to change.
9:32PM, mommy comes back and asks again "okay, are you ready to get ready for bed yet?"
Liam says "no; mommy look" while pointing at the clock "it's a 2 now, it says '3' '2'" meaning "I don't have to get ready for bed because there is no "8" on the clock".

tall enough

Mommy: Liam, please take a few more bites of the vege so you can grow tall.
Liam: I am already tall
Mommy: yes, you are tall. But eating veges will make you even taller so you can be like Daddy
Liam: I can reach everthing when I stand on my step stool.

Doctor's orders

This occured in early October 2009.

Liam has always been told that coffee, almonds, and wine are for big people. Liam will have to wait till he is older to have them.

The night before Liam's 2 year checkup, mommy was prepping him and describing all the different things that is going to happen at his appointment the next day.
Mommy told him "we can also ask the doctor if it is okay now for Liam to try some almonds. If the doctors says 'yes' then Liam can have them".
Liam replies "Doctors says Liam can have coffee"
